Paul Ryan is on the Wisconsin ballot running for both VP and for his current House seat, WI-01. He could win both elections, or neither, or win one and lose the other. If the Republicans win the White House it is almost certain Paul Ryan would also win his House race. Talk about a coat-tails effect. So what would happen under that scenario?
Paul Ryan would have to resign one office or the other. Of course that means he'd resign his House seat. A special election would be called quickly to fill that seat. The GOP candidate would certainly win. The special election would come in the wake of a huge GOP victory and with a huge GOP warchest. So who would that candidate be?

If Romney / Ryan wins this year, Reince Priebus' reward will be Paul Ryan's WI-01 seat.
